After wiring all of those Langstroth bee frames, manufacturing of the beehive equipment and splitting of colonies to make new ones paid off. The new colonies were relocated to a new apiary site I had found in the South Waikato town of Tokoroa (New Zealand).
The picture on the right shows me holding a frame of brood, photo taken during late spring (1988).

An old school friend, Lance was beekeeping too and we would help each other out as needed. Lance’s vehicle was a Holden and could tow a larger trailer, this was especially useful when robbing 24 boxes (supers) of honey. Weight – about 650kg.
